Business Gifts

The exchange of business gifts is typically the highlight of the conclusion of your meeting. It demonstrates a willingness to commemorate a sucessful meeting. A giving of a business gift originates from the French word souvenir, which means remembrance. If going to a meeting where you expect that you will receive a gift, it is advisable to take a small souvenir with you too.

Business gifts should be associated with a company, person, event, country or city. It is recommended to give souvenirs about your country, pens or other items with your company’s logo, or alcoholic beverages. To give expensive gifts is not advisable.

In some countries business gifts are almost a must (for example, Greece, Spain, Portugal), when in other countries they are not very common (for example, UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands).
